After resize memory problems.

Post by Paolito »

Hi. I have a problem with LIR version 4.0.8.0. After reducing the size of the photos, the amount of free space on my hard disc gets smaller. True that the size of the folders (with resized pictures) is smaller than before, but there is less memory on my hard disc. I'm sure that I'm not making copies of these pics . Has this happened to anyone before?

example (in bytes)
Folder: Before: 1 884 135 424 | After: 995 143 680 | Diffrence: 888991744
Dysk D (free space): Before: 157 612 126 208 | After: 156 632 453 120 | Diffrence: 979673088

Cheers.

If you're overwriting images, LIR will move the original files to recycle bin. So make sure to check the result and delete files finally.

This behavior can be turned off by registry. I've attached a reg file to do this.

Phil, thanks for your answer, but there aren't any copies of resized pictures in rec bin.
I used this file, and it's working, after next resize I have more space on HDD. Thanks!
But, have you got any idea, how to retrieve my lost space?

Well, if it's not in recycle bin I have no idea what could have happened. You may run a tool like Tree Size to check what's taking so much space.
