translate ObviousIdea.com web site

Post by Fabrice »

For now we are using Wordpress 3.1 to power the web site, and we have looked into various plugin to manage translation of the web site.

After a first attempt to use the purchased version of WPML without any success ( rewriting rule ), we have succeeded to use transposh : http://transposh.org/

if you want to participate to translate the main part of the web site ( products page etc ) , follow these steps :

1 - create an account to :
http://www.obviousidea.com/wp-admin

2 - contact Obviousidea by Facebook, forum , email , skype etc..
and let us know the username of this account

3 - we will allow you to translate the web site.. be careful to not edit the ENGLISH translation

4 - log again with your updated credential, then go to http://www.obviousidea.com

in the bottom part, you should see a new option "edit translation"

first click on your flag, then click on "edit translation"

you should see inline button to edit strings one by one, .. be do it on a few strings only.. and browse the result with another program ( firefox if you are using chrome, or chrome or ie if you are using firefox ) .. to check you didnt translate by mistake the english version.
