Yikes! Error: email is required

Best Wordpress plugin to engage your users and collect their email. You can use header alerts, popups, or exit pages, and it works with any popular emailing service such as Mailchimp or AWeber

Yikes! Error: email is required

Post by lrmpress »

i have followed the tutorials and i thought i did everything right BUT
every time i try to test the opt-in it redirects to a blank page with a simple but ominous message:

Error: email is required

i am unsure what i did wrong.
i ahve tried it on safari and firefox on a mac and both agve the same result.

anyone have any ideas?

UPDATE:
after much mayhem i got it to work. how? i dunno... dumb luck.

Hi,

Perhaps it is a problem on the "detection code".

What do you have on "Form EMAIL field:" in "Setup Opt-in Code" ?

Is it "MERGE0" ?

if you had provided a direct access to you by live messaging or a temp admin access to your wordpress, we could look for it.. but for now you don't provide a lot of details, and we can't go further

I found the solution in another post so I'm sharing in case anyone comes across this. I watch this video (even though I do not speak French): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7IB1NCg-G0

In short, I made 2 mods:
1. When I chose the "classic" form, I selected the options drop down to include ALL fields instead of just required fields.
2. After I selected "detect form", I didn't change anything. There are some instructions that indicate to change the URL to "/wp-content/plugins/wpsubscribers/mailchimp.php" but I left it as-is.

Now, the form works.
