Page margins with print selection

When printing a selection by highlighting the text, my bank statement in two pages, there are no top or bottom margins so items are missed or only half the character depth printed. I have tried this both with and without 'adjust page size to printable area' in the settings. I am using a Canon MG5250 printer.
