Browser Hi-jacker infection?

Post by vintagetq »

I today downloaded your light image resizer via your obviousidea.com website.

After downloading it ive been infected with the delta-homes browser hijacker malware.

Ive tried everything to get rid of it but just cant. Ive googled it and followed instructions from various sites on how to get rid of it but its so stubborn.

any ideas? and any idea how i got this?

Cheers

Sorry to hear this. There are some sponsored apps (often called "adware") that may get installed with your download if you allow it. I wasn't aware some were that persistent though.
This one seems to be a thorough guide: http://malwaretips.com/blogs/delta-homes-removal/

To let me investigate further, can you tell me the filename of the installer you downloaded?

For the future, there's a way to download a package without any additional software: uncheck the "Include sponsored software offers" on our website before starting the download.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience caused!
