I wanted to remove a white border, so I selected crop and picked a size smaller than the files.

The result was scaling, not cropping.

Is that normal?

I want it to act like Photoshop's Canvas Size.

Right now, cropping works a bit different: First the image is resized based on the short side, then the remaining part is cropped.
I agree the resizing should be optional. I'll think about supporting both ways.
